Mazda Teases Hazumi Concept Ahead of Geneva

We're a week away from the Geneva Motor Show, and as fate would have it, we're in for a real treat from our preferred automaker, Mazda. Coming on the heels of its launch of three all-new redesigned models, the Japanese car maker is keeping its pace and adding the Mazda2 to its list of models in store for an upgrade.

We'll be getting our taste of the next-gen model at that show in the form of the Hazumi Concept, a sporty hot hatch that depicts the Mazda2 wearing the brand's latest KODO Design Language.

While highly stylized, the Hazumi Concept depicts what we expect the basic shape of the model will be. Like the Mazda3, that includes dynamic body styling, an all-new grille set up, and more aggressive headlamps.

The tone of the model is carried by its name, which in Japanese means to "spring up" or "bound." Based on the car's nimble look, it's pretty clear this is quite the fitting title.

We're not quite sure yet when we can expect the new Mazda2 to drop here in the U.S., but given our preferred automaker's track record of ambitious plans working out, we think it could be in time for the 2015 model year. We'll keep you updated on that, though.

For all the best of the new Mazda lineup, our Redwood City, CA dealership is here to serve your needs. Get in touch with us with any questions you may have about this stellar vehicle and all that comes with it!
